The middle east is collapsing and with its collapse come thousands of refugees with it. Bashar al-Assad has fractured Syria and its people. The book “Crossing thr Sea” by Wolfgang Bauer talks about the syrian refugee crisis. He follows refugees and tells their story.

The average citizen in America has to understand that the Syrian refugee crisis is not going to be an uncommon event in the next few decades. With the looming dangers of global warming that will bring severe drought and floods which will cause famine across the globe, certain populations will be forced to seek refugee in neighboring countries. The average US citizen has the power to alleviate these future crisis by voting consciously for better immigration and refugee reform.

Writer argues that children are the most affected group out of all the refugees. I am supportive of this thesis. I am not educated enough on the topic to be sure about it but i know that children are an important factor of any society and the children of the refugees are going to keep their culture alive. Using individual examples of affected children would make this an interesting paper.
