Syrian Refugee smuggling (SYRIAN Civil war) I personally felt like I was at a presentation/conference Dennis wants to make sure you catch these main ideas by occasionally repeating himself And he personally points and even directs you back on where he gets his insights from for example when he referred back to page 10. Very clear and direct and his examples make you scared in a way that it could happen to anyone.

Topic is on how the Syrian war happened and how we can fix it. In the next century climate change will affect us mentally and physically Western countries are partially involved at fault. 4 out of 5 people are in poverty Human life should be among anything else. The Middle Eastern and Asian countries hold more than half of the refugees Main thing is funding by underfunding you’re  just avoiding the conflict and make it worse for the long term. We need an organized application process. One of the main things that we are capable of doing is VOTE!

What did you gain from the presentation?( Gary)

For Gary’s first presentation he did a really good job I feel like his voice is very strong so it kind of makes you want to pay attention no matter what. His facts are very detailed and are very strongly portrayed. Personal examples and feeling towards the topic makes it very intriguing. They constantly fear being captured kidnapped and or raped. So many religious and political views. Many doctors and educators among them in Hawaii we struggle to pay for power money food #The Struggle Of Life

What did you gain from the presentation? (Krystle)

I liked how she spoke the hard given truth but with facts I gained knowledge on the syrian refugees and how the Syrians want to end the violence and that they want to make it so that they do not fear for there country. 5mil refugees that have fled as of April 2019 on average European 15,000 spends on a refugee application process housing etc. That things always come at a cost. The spending per refugee is a couple examples on how the economy would be impacted we as citizens should be involved and knowledgeable on the topic.

And lastly another very strong presentation I very much appreciated was Melodys. I appreciate how she really believes in what she is talking about a very strong frame in a way of explaining the very detailed picture she is trying to paint in our head on what they went through on a daily basis weather it be gender barriers lower pay,  harassment I think as a soon to be mother this paper has helped her see that no matter what obstacles she will face she will get through it because she is a strong independent woman and if they could get through the violence the hate anything than she is able too also.

Another very powerful presentation was from Franki how she delivered her presentation on Slavery. First off Fuck Men. Some… the way that they treat woman should be shameful. Another very powerful presentation was from Franki how she delivered her presentation on Slavery. First off Fuck Men. Some… the way that they treat woman should be shameful. Franki is a very gifted writer and presenter she breaks it down for you to clearly understand the topic and points. Almost makes you nauseous but it needs to be heard. Very strong presentation with analytical points Appreciated of the pictures you get an image of what they look like and go through on a daily. Her words are very strong and hold a lot of meaning in way it kind of makes me want to Game of Thrones these men and chop them Wangs off. I think we as Men need to always ask ourselves is WOULD WE TREAT OUR OWN MOTHER(s)THIS WAY??? Or even our own daughters or grandmothers this way.

One of the main presentations that I very much learned from was Nokea how he talked about the violence that the children refugees have to observe. He has a really strong balance of being emotionally involved and not being too emotionally involved. Him letting us close our eyes and having us feel what they feel and hear is really sad in a way but very true from what he has read A very serious topic and feels almost personal on why he wanted to pick this topic but overall his dictation and how he uses words and examples and straight facts about it is very empowering. So much that as I look around the room he has moved some of our classmates the hurt and helpless feeling and looming question of what can we do? And the main one of all WWHHYY? WHY THEM?…..

Prior to beginning Crossing the Sea: With Syrians on the Exodus to Europe, I had very little knowledge of Syria, let alone the crisis going on over there. As an outsider, I believed that the Syrians lived in small homes with little to no modernization. That is why I was surprised to uncover that some Syrians have many of the same technologies we have here in the US. These include smartphones, braces, and international schools. I thought that Syrian government only allowed them to convene with their own people. However, the one item that caught my attention the most was e-cigarettes, especially since they are still something very new here in Hawaii. Maybe we really aren’t as different from Syrians as we are distant from them.

Not only did the prisoners undergo communist indoctrination, beatings, and mental abuse; prisoners had medical experiments performed on them. One account claims that 50 women were forced to eat poisoned cabbage leaves “ All of the women were required to eat the cabbage, despite cries of distress from those who had already eaten.” After 20 minutes all the women were dead. Prisoners were used for operation practice for apprentice doctors “ practice surgery on prisoners without anesthesia. A former prisoner camp head of security recalls a family being held in a sealed gas chamber waiting to be exposed to unknown gases “equipped with gas chambers and suffocation gas experiments, in which three or four people, normally a family, are the experimental subjects.” Once poison was released in the chamber, the son and daughter of the couple died first. What they did to their own citizens is truly disgusting.
